About

Supports the recovery and self-reliance of those with mental challenges and aims to reduce the social stigma against mental illness. Provides mental health support services (in Mandarin, Cantonese and English) to people and their families in need. Promotes mental wellness through mental health education workshops, seminars, ongoing group activities (eg. Singing, Bridge, Walking, Painting, etc.), Outreach visits, Counselling, Training for volunteers, Youth Ambassador Group, advocacy, Family support groups, Festival gatherings, and Virtual mental support. Offers referral services and networks with communities closely to raise public awareness of mental illness. Provides free (or by donation) counselling support in English and Mandarin/Cantonese by appointment only for resources for low-income residents.

The Richmond Mental Health Consumer and Friends' Society (RCFC) supports a strong and connected mental health peer community by providing Peer Support, Therapeutic Recreation, and opportunities for growth and development to Richmond based mental health consumers. Funded by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the SMART Grant, and the City of Richmond. Participants must be 19 years of age or older and a referral from a mental health professional is required for most programs and services.
